STOP AND START SYSTEM > Stop and Start Cancel Switch Circuit


DESCRIPTION

Stop and Start system control can be disabled by pressing the stop and start cancel switch assembly. The stop and start cancel switch assembly is a momentary-type switch that switches between on and off when the switch is pressed. While Stop and Start system control is disabled, the ECO OFF indicator is illuminated to inform the driver.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (CANCEL SWITCH)

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

  1. Turn the tester on.

  1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Data List / Cancel Switch.

  1. Read the value when the stop and start cancel switch is pressed.

    OK:
    ON or OFF is displayed depending on whether the stop and start cancel switch is pressed.

Go to step 2
OK

PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (Click here)  

2.INSPECT STOP AND START CANCEL SWITCH ASSEMBLY

  1. Inspect the stop and start cancel switch assembly (Click here).



NG
REPLACE STOP AND START CANCEL SWITCH ASSEMBLY (Click here)
OK


3.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE STOP AND START ECU - STOP AND START CANCEL SWITCH)

  1. Disconnect the stop and start cancel switch assembly connector and the engine stop and start ECU connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester Connection
    		Condition
    		Specified Condition
    D78-8 (ECAN) - D80-6 (ECU)
    		Always
    		Below 1 Ω
    D78-8 (ECAN) - D80-6 (ECU) - Body ground
    		Always
    		10 kΩ or higher

  1. Reconnect the stop and start cancel switch assembly connector and engine stop and start ECU connector.

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK


4.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STOP AND START CANCEL SWITCH - BODY GROUND)

  1. Disconnect the stop and start cancel switch assembly connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester Connection
    		Condition
    		Specified Condition
    D80-3 (E) - Body ground
    		Always
    		Below 1 Ω

  1. Reconnect the stop and start cancel switch assembly connector.
